Providing the best healthcare to our patients within a framework of safety and cost effectiveness has become more challenging than ever. Learning the steps involved in the implementation of performance improvement is necessary in order to create a vision and culture of change that utilizes evidenced-based practice to improve patient outcomes. |

Learning Objectives |

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
· Describe the elements of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) and their utilization in performance improvement initiatives
· Identify key tools that may be used to assist with the PDCA process
· Describe the steps involved in the process of developing and implementing a performance improvement plan
· Discuss how to implement a human milk Performance Improvement program at your institution
